PPT Statement on Restoring Gold Standard Science Executive Order

Protect the Public’s Trust Director Michael Chamberlain issued the following statement on President Trump signing the Gold Standard Science Executive Order:

“For the last several years ‘follow the science’ was too often used to deflect or as a justification to censor, silence, and smear those who expressed skepticism of or evidence refuting prevailing narratives. As more and more of these narratives were shattered and as thousands of published studies have been retracted, the American public’s trust has been rapidly evaporating. During the Biden administration, PPT documented at least a dozen instances in which we believe agencies tossed aside scientific integrity principles in pursuit of political goals and policy agendas. This new executive order represents an opportunity to change direction and restore trust in public-sector science.”
