From the ‘Keenest Insights’ to Unsolicited Brain Diagnosis in Weeks: When the Biden Gaslight Went Out
- March 16, 2026
Documents show Team Biden’s bluster becoming shock and canceled PR stops.
For White House Biden loyalists who didn’t have personal access to the president (a far larger cohort than in most administrations) his horrific debate performance against Donald Trump on June 27, 2024 must have been shocking.
Just weeks before, on June 6, according to documents obtained by Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT), Biden Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was vigorously instructing her press shop how to respond to a press inquiry following up on a Wall Street Journal article raising doubts about Biden’s “mental acuity.” It seems the team’s initial response was too tepid, so the Energy Secretary weighed in with her own,
I appreciate the general statement but it does not address the specific question.
The President is utterly on his game. He is the wisest, most knowledgeable person in the room. He asks the toughest questions and has the keenest insights on the complex questions brought to him. The article was BS.
After the debate it must have seemed to those poor DOE flacks that the lady did protest too much, not the least of whom the staffer who replied to the Secretary, “LOVE the spice!” The Public certainly hadn’t seen a president “utterly on his game.” Over at the Veterans’ Administration (VA) within a few days of the debate the office of VA Secretary Denis McDonough had received at least 80 emails calling for the president to resign. And one offering to heal Biden’s brain. According to VA communications also obtained by PPT, a self-described VA doctor in Los Angeles requested the Secretary forward his message to President Biden.
The purported VA M.D., whose name was redacted (but whose signature identified him as a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and an Associate Chief of Integrative Medicine for the VA’s Greater Los Angeles Healthcare system), wrote to Biden, “I would like to offer my medical services to you, in an effort to help you win the bid for re-election against a would-be dictator who would seek to destroy our democracy.”
With that much at stake, the good doctor would dispense with the Hippocratic niceties and diagnose the president from afar. In fact, the doctor said it didn’t matter if Biden had been “formally diagnosed with a medical condition that may impair your stamina and sharpness.” He wrote that he provided,
unique forms of acupuncture and osteopathic manipulative treatment to our nation’s veterans, including a specialized treatment known as Osteopathy in the Cranial Field that is aimed at healing injuries of the brain and strengthening the circulatory and central nervous system. Many of the veterans that I treat are recovering from traumatic brain injuries, dementia and other forms of neurodegenerative decline, which are conditions that I specifically focus on treating in these cases.
The documents give no indication whether the president accepted the offer, or even whether it was forwarded to the White House. Secretary McDonough had other problems just then, including whether to make an appearance on Fox and Friends at the upcoming motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. It would, according to a member of his press shop, normally be a good idea to “stop, speak to vets, show support for the work force.” But Trump had made a claim in the debate that the VA care of veterans was poor, so the issue had “suddenly become politicized.” (Trump has raised this issue since 2015). Therefore, the aide could “no longer recommend” the appearance “unless the WH wants it.” The secretary “would be a great messenger and would handily crush the disinformation. But I’d rather him not have to do it.”
What loyal press aide would want the boss to have to clean up the mess the president made of the debate?
“This is a reminder of just how hard the Biden administration tried to gaslight Americans,” said PPT Director Michael Chamberlain. “In early June a cabinet secretary spoke in superlatives about Biden’s sharpness. By late June his cognitive problems were fodder for TV diagnoses, and administration officials skipped their own public appearances to avoid talking about the debate. Evidence of his condition was all around but his inner circle hoped we wouldn’t notice.”
