The findings show more than $258 million was given to former employers and clients of at least xxx political appointees, entities that now have substantial influence over the current Administration. More than 98 percent of these loans were either fully or partially forgiven, significantly higher than the 80% average rate of forgiveness across the program. Ultimately, $217 million in PPP loans to these politically connected entities were forgiven, with nearly $1.8 million dollars paid in excess fees or interest to discharge these loans.
