Chris Frey, President Joe Biden’s pick to lead EPA’s research office, drew closer to being confirmed today.
The Senate this afternoon voted 51-43 to invoke cloture, or wind down debate, on Frey’s nomination. A final roll call on Frey could happen as soon as this evening. He would be Biden’s eighth Senate-confirmed nominee at EPA.
Frey has attracted scrutiny from Republicans over ties to a Hong Kong university. He promised to resign from the school if confirmed.
