A watchdog group focused on exposing government officials’ misconduct is demanding an investigation into White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki for continuing to engage with the press in her official capacity while reportedly seeking a new position with a network.
Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) is calling on the White House, Justice Department and U.S. Office of Government Ethics to look into alleged conflicts of interest in Psaki potentially taking a job with MSNBC while continuing her job as President Joe Biden‘s press secretary.
‘[W]e call upon you to investigate whether Ms. Psaki misused her position and created the appearance of an impermissible conflict of interest,’ PPT wrote in a letter demanding a probe. ‘We also call upon you to release records relating to Ms. Psaki’s recusals and negotiations for non-federal employment.’
